Chunar Fort
Chunar Fort also known as Chandrakanta Chunargarh is a famous historic place in Tammanpatti, Mirzapur district in the state Uttar Pradesh which is very well known for its beautiful waterfalls, scenery, and fort. It was made by King Sahadeva in 1029 AD. This Fort is almost 2000 years old fort well known for its history and architecture. It is a stunning place to explore. It has an aesthetic appeal that draws and attracts tourists. The fort has also been featured in a famous Bollywood movie named Gangs of Wasseypur. It is a symbol of our rich culture heritage.
The area of the Fort extends over length of 750 yards (690m) in the north direction, with a maximum width over 300 yards (270m) in the northern face of the fort, that is close to the river bank. The peripheral length of the fort is almost 1850 yards that is (1690m), the height of the towers built at regular distance from 10-20 feet that is (3.0-6.0m).

It is a an excellent example of how skilled we had achitects even in that era who did a great work on the very fine architecture of the fort. Some parts of the Fort has been fallen into disrepair but rest of the parts are well-preserved and restored by the ASI ( Archeological Survey Of India ) to conserve our historical Fort.
