The-Mahabodhi-Society-Temple

The Mahabodhi Society Temple is one of the most ancient temples in India. It was built in the Gupta period entirely of bricks. It is the proselyte where Gautam Buddha attained enlightenment. When a Buddhist monk, Dharmapala from Sri Lanka encountered the broken condition of Sarnath, he campaigned and collected global funds from Buddhist countries and revived the temple. Finally, a temple was built next to the archaeological site, which was the replica of the original shrine in the site.
